The researcher traced the mentioning of the name Yathrib in poetry from the pre-Islamic era until the modern age and he traced it in prose texts as well. Then he displayed the Prophet's sayings (Hadiths) in which it was mentioned. He also discussed what was in the Hadiths of forbidding the use of the name Yathrib after Islam to mean Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarrah and he came to the conclusion that there has been equal mentioning for the name and forbidding using it. Thus, the researcher tends to consider that forbidding using the name Yahtrib was because it was not preferable and not because it was a taboo. But at the same time, he did not confirm his view and he wished the specialists in the studies of the Prophet's Hadiths to reach a definitive judgment in this matter. |
