تتميز مدينة حلوان بمقوماتها السياحية الفريدة التي جذبت أنظار العالم على مر العصور، إلا أن التلوث وغياب الوعي البيئي لدى المهتمين بصناعة السياحة بالمدينة جعلها تفقد العديد من أهميتها السياحية خاصة في مجال السياحة العلاجية والاستشفائية، فبها العديد من العيون الطبيعية التي لا تقارن بأي مياه معدنية في العالم كالموجودة بواحة حلوان التي تتدفق منها مياه كبريتية طبيعية، بالإضافة إلى مناخها الجاف وشمسها المشرقة طوال العام. بدأت الدولة في اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لاستعادة القيمة السياحية لها، نتيجة للاهتمام المتزايد بإتباع الأساليب المختلفة لمواجهة معدلات التلوث الذي تتزايد معدلاته عن الحدود المسموح بها بالرغم من الجهود المبذولة للسيطرة على المصانع المختلفة والأنشطة المؤدية للإخلال بتوازن المدينة البيئي والذي يؤثر بدوره في المقومات السياحية الموجودة بها كالحديقة اليابانية ومتحف الشمع ومتحف ركن فاروق ومحمية وداي دجلة بالمعادي وغيرها من مقومات النشاط السياحي.
This aims to research recovering the touristic value of Helwan city especially , Japanese garden, wax museum, sulphur-springs in wahaa oasis and other tourist places. Moreover questionnaires were distributed to a sample of employees in many places in Helwan city and in-depth interviews were done with responsible in Helwan city to know their opinion about the problems of their city , the levels of pollution there ,the ways to over come these problems to recover the value of Helwan as a tourist attraction especially for recreational and healthy tourism .Therefore the research recommended that:- 1- There is a necessity to establish a scientific institution for preventing the badly effects of industrial companies which affected the natural environment in Helwan city. 2- Put plans, take rapid and suitable decisions to avoid bad effects of climate changes. 3- Increasing controlling process in sources of pollution and bad usage of persons on the environment. 4- Making benefit from touristic developed countries to achieve the suitability in the city . 5- Cleaning the sulphur –springs in the city from water pollution to enhance and promote the recreational and healthy tourism. 6- Establish a national museum to show its history and civilization . 7- Finally the research recommended to avoid building in tourist places in Helwan.
