|b The characteristics of an irreversible steady-flow absorption refrigeration cycles are examined when approximated to a combination of ideal driving and cooling cycles. The optimized refrigeration cycle has then been combined with an optimized power cycle to produce a combined cycle. The general matching requirements of the two cycles are discussed. The cycles are then combined in a specific way such that they become a model for an ideal absorption refrigeration cycle. The influence of the design parameters on the performance of the combined cycle is analyzed. The performance of an experimental absorption unit is compared with the predictions made by the analysis.
