|b This study aimed to identify the concept of the meaning of life for the wives of the Palestinian prisoners in the light of the variables of age, number of children, the educational level of the wife, the duration of the husband’s sentence. The researcher used the measure of the meaning of life (prepared by the researcher) which consists of 46 items distributed on four dimensions which are: acceptance and satisfaction, the aim of life, consistency and responsibility, and the sublimity of life. The sample of the study consisted of 118 wives of prisoners who are still in detained. This represented 50% of the population of the study in the Jenin governorate. The results of the study concluded that the meaning of life for the prisoners' wives was average. There were no statistically significant differences in the light of the variables of the study. The researcher recommended the necessity of giving and developing the psychological and social guidance for the wives of the prisoners. With the necessity of their active participation in national issues specially the issue of the prisoners in order to highlight the suffering which they and their families suffer from.

|a هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى مفهوم معني الحياة لدي زوجات الأسري الفلسطينيين. وكذلك التعرف إلى معني الحياة لدي زوجات الأسري الفلسطينيين في ضوء متغيرات (العمر، عدد الأبناء، والمستوي التعليمي للزوجة، ومدة حكم الزوج). واستخدمت الباحثة مقياس معني الحياة (من إعداد الباحثة) والمكون من (46) فقرة موزعة على أربعة أبعاد هي (القبول والرضا، الهدف من الحياة، الثبات والمسئولية وتسامي الذات). بلغت عينة الدراسة 118 زوجة أسير ما زال في المعتقل، وهي تمثل 50% من مجتمع الدراسة في محافظة جنين. وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة بأن معني الحياة لدي زوجات الأسري الفلسطينيين كان متوسطاً، وأنه لا يوجد فروق دالة إحصائيا في ضوء متغيرات الدراسة. وقد أوصت الباحثة بضرورة تقديم خدمات الإرشاد النفسي والاجتماعي والأسرى الزوجات الأسرى وتطويرها، مع ضرورة مشاركتهن الفاعلة في القضايا الوطنية وخاصة قضية الأسرى لإظهار المعناة التي يعانين منها هن وأسرهن.
