|a Introduction Premature labour which is also known as preterm labour, is the birth of a baby at a fewer than 37 weeks gestational age. These babies are known as preemies or premmies. Woman undergoing premature labour need a special care for her and her baby. Objective To assess management of preterm labour at Omdurman Maternity Hospital, what kind of medication given to a woman undergoing preterm labour and early identification of a woman at risk for preterm labour. Methods The study conducted at Omdurman Maternity Hospital using hospital based cross sectional study, all in patient adults between 20 and 30 years of age from December 2015 to March 2016. One hundred cases were chosen from 300 population using systematic random sampling Results The result shown that protocols at Omdurman Maternity Hospital do not strictly follow international guidelines. Conclusion and Recommendation Choice of drug is affected by the gestational age, women should be advised to visit her doctor as early as possible after missed period, pregnant women should be aware about signs and symptoms of pre-term labor and record it to her physician when occurs.
