Background: Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is a progressive destruction of kidney function in which the body metabolism and water and electrolyte balance would be disturbed resulting in uremia. End stage renal disease (ESRD) is a medical and social problem that constitutes a heavy burden on communities worldwide. Objectives: To determine the quality of life and its different dimensions in hemodialysis patients, to detect self-care ability in hemodialysis patients, to determine the causes of deteriorations in quality of life of patients on HD. Methods: Married and unmarried Patients who underwent hemodialysis in Dr. Slama Centre for kidney disease treatment between September 2014 and December 2014 were included in this study, their quality of life was evaluated and the factors that affect on their quality of life were also evaluated. Results: The study indicated that the HRQOL in ESRD was most affected in physical function and vitality, but the impact of ESRD was leas pronounce in mental health and social activity. Conclusion: Intervention should be directed to improve physical HRQOL in ESRD patients and increase the sessions of HD from two time/ week to three time/ week.
