The study aimed to investigate the psychometric characteristics of the existential emptiness scale among the young people of university through preparing a measure of multidimensional existential emptiness of youth, and identifying the psychometric characteristics of the scale in terms of its validity and stability. The study sought to monitor and measure the phenomenon of existential emptiness among young academicians by preparing a measure that stems from our Arab environment and is suitable for our cultures. The research group consisted of university youth aged from 19 to 24 years old. In its initial form, the scale consisted of 70 phrases, divided into four dimensions representing the existential emptiness, which are senselessness, in 21 phrases; despair, in17 phrases; boredom, in 16 phrases; and purposelessness, in 16 phrases. The validity of the scale was estimated through the factor discriminant validity. Furthermore, its reliability was calculated using the Alpha Cronbach and the half-split methods. The results of the study confirmed that the measure proved to be effective because it has a theoretical and practical value, and can be applied to the youth of the university. استهدفت الدراسة معرفة الخصائص السيكومترية لمقياس الفراغ الوجودي لدى شباب الجامعة من خلال إعداد مقياس الفراغ الوجودي متعدد الأبعاد لدى الشباب والتعرف على الخصائص السيكومترية للمقياس من حيث صدقه وثباته. فسعت الدراسة لرصد وقياس ظاهرة الفراغ الوجودي لدى الشباب الجامعي من خلال إعداد مقياس نابع من بيئتنا العربية وملائم لثقافاتنا. وتكونت مجموعة البحث من الشباب الجامعي في الفترة العمرية من 19 إلى 24 عاما. وتألف المقياس في صورته الأولية من 70 عبارة موزعة على أربعة أبعاد تمثل الفراغ الوجودي وهي اللامعنى وعددهم 21 عبارة، واليأس وعددهم 17 عبارة، والملل وعددهم 16 عبارة، واللاهدف وعددهم 16 عبارة. وتم حساب صدق المقياس من خلال حساب الصدق العاملي والتمييزي. وحساب ثباته باستخدام طريقة ألفا كرونباخ وطريقة التجزئة النصفية. وجاءت نتائج الدراسة مؤكدة أن المقياس أثبت فاعليته حيث إنه له قيمة نظرية وعملية ويمكن تطبيقه على شباب الجامعة. ويمكن للباحثين الاستفادة منه في أبحاثهم العلمية.كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
