Inflation is an economic phenomenon that it faced by developed and developing countries, with varying degrees, its continuity weakens the purchasing power of consumers, devours wages and profits, it manifests instability and fear among policymakers, to this end it leaves a series of imbalances, budgetary and monetary paths, whether at the national or international level. Algeria, like other countries, has seen varied inflation degrees in different periods - especially in the nineties, which influenced economic sectors of the nation both internally and externally Based on the above study, this work aims to measure the impact of inflation on the Algerian economy in period 1980-2012, we observed the existence of a negative impact of inflation on the real gross domestic product variable and also a positive impact that reflects the exchange rate and existence of a inverse relation of inflation, on the competitiveness of national exports, as well as the metric study showed the absence of a direct linear relationship statistically significant between inflation and savings.
