يقدم هذا البحث عرضا لأهمية أمن المعلومات في المكتبات ومراكز المعلومات ويتطرق للتهديدات التي يواجهها أمن المعلومات في المكتبات، والأخطار التي تجعل المكتبات أكثر عرضة لهذه التهديدات. وينقسم الى مبحثين: يشمل الأول تعريف واهمية أمن المعلومات، والمبادئ الأساسية لأمن المعلومات ومجالاتها، وتخصص أمن المعلومات، ومخاطر الإنترنت على أمن المعلومات، وتصنيف جرائم المعلومات، وطرق ووسائل المحافظة على أمن المعلومات، وأخيراً توعية الطلاب بأمن المعلومات واخلاقياتها. اما المبحث الثاني فيتناول سياسة أمن المعلومات في المكتبات ومراكز المعلومات وتطبيق تلك السياسات على مكتبات جامعة زاخو في اقليم كوردستان العراق. ويؤكد البحث على ضرورة وجود وثيقة لسياسة أمن المعلومات في المكتبات ومراكز المعلومات، متبوعة بمجموعة من الإجراءات والتعليمات، والتي بدونها يصبح الالتزام بعدم hرتكاب الجرائم الحاسوبية ضربا من الأخلاقيات التي قد لا يلتزم الكثيرون بها، او يختلف حولها باختلاف التربية والثقافة. كما يعرض البحث مجموعة من التوصيات للتعرف على مدى كفاية تلك السياسات المتبعة لتحقيق أمن المعلومات.
This paper present a case study on the importance of information security in libraries and information centers, addresses the threats to information security, and the risks that make libraries and information centers more vulnerable to these threats.The study is composed of two parts: The first includes the definition and importance of information security, the basic principles of information security and its fields, the specialization of information security, the risks that the Internet poses for information security, classification of cybercrimes, ways and means of maintaining information security, and finally educating students about information security and ethics.The second part deals with the information security policies in libraries and information centers and applying these to the libraries of the University of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as a case study.The research emphasizes the need for an information security policy document in libraries and information centers, followed by a set of procedures and instructions. Absence of the commitment not to commit cybercrimes will become an ethical issue that may or may not oblige many to respect policies. The research also presents a set of recommendations to identify the adequacy of these policies to achieve information security in libraries and information centers.
