المستخلص: Recently, Big Data investment has become significantly important for organizations. Especially with the fast growing of Data due to the huge expanding usage of social media applications and websites. On which many organizations depend to extract and reach the needed reports and statistics. Big data investment and storage issues are considered main challenge for organizations, for that; many technologies and methods were developed to face those challenges. One of those technologies is HADOOP, a frame work that is used to divide the big data into packages and distribute those packages through nodes to be processed consuming less cost than traditional storing and processing ways, besides it allows the organization to store all the data it owns, unlike traditional methods of selecting some and discarding some data. In this paper, researchers will study the investment of HADOOP in managing the academic libraries Big Data, focusing on the 3 Vs (Velocity, Variety, and Volume). The population will be academic libraries in Jordanian universities. And the results will show how HADOOP frame work using the MAP/reduce technique can be used to manage such kind of Big Data.
