قضية الهوية في أي مجتمع أو أمة، هي مبرر وجودها وقيمها وتاريخها وعندما تتنازل أمة عن هويتها فهي تفرط في تاريخها وقيمها ومستقبلها وتفتح الطريق أمام انفراط عقدها، ولا يمكن أن نتحدث عن هوية عربية إلا إذا اكتملت مضامينها بين الثابت والمتغير. فهل الباحثين العرب ركزوا في دراستهم على الثابت من الهوية العربية بحكم أنها تمثل أصالة التاريخ والخاصية التي تميزها عن بقية شعوب العالم، وتركوا المتغير من الهوية العربية الذي كان أحد الأسباب لمحاولة العولمة تحطيم ثوابتنا. لقد ساعدت الصحوة الفكرية والعلمية في أوربا من تغيير من الهوية الوطنية لدول أوربا من اجل الرفع من شأنها أمام الدول ولقد خلقت لنفسها هويتين ساعدتاها للظهور كقوة واحدة وترسم لنفسها هوية موحدة ألا وهي "الهوية الأوربية"، ومما ساعدها في ذلك تبنى هوية اقتصادية مشتركة إيديولوجية موحدة تحاول من خلالها إذابة الثقافات الفرعية لكل بلد أوربي في ثقافة موحدة أوربية.
The matter of identity in every society or nation reflects its existance, values and history. When the nation abondons its identity, it looses its history, value and future and opens the door to all kind of complexities. We can’t talk about the Arabic identity unless we reach for all its constanticies and variables. So, did Arab searchers(sociologists) focused in their studies on the constant of the Arabic identity because it represents the originality of the history and the particularity which specify it from the other nations and left out the variables of this identity which was one of the reasons to try to break its constituants through globalization. The intellectual and scientific waking in Europe to change the national identity to Europeen countries to risen them in front of the other countries, though they have created two identies to help them appear as one force and draw for themselves one identity which is « the Europeen identity » and what helped them in that to adapt an idiological economical unified identity, they try through it to merge the cultural differences of each country to one unified Europeen culture that holds the slogan of Europeen Identity Citizenship.
