المستخلص: A number of 1011colony forming units (CFUs) were caught on SDA and PDA media, from the indoor air of the surgical operation ward and the Intensive care Unit (ICU) at Yafran General Hospital. They belong to 11 genera which comprise 31 species of fungi. The most widespread fungal species were as follows: Cladosporium spp. (31.26 %), Penicillium spp. (27.99%), Candida spp. (15.62%), Aspergillus spp. constituting a ratio of (14.14 %), but as for the fungal, Alternaria spp. Chrysosporium tropicum, Fusarium spp., Mucor hiemalis, Rhizopus spp., Paecilomyces lilacinus, and Ulocladium spp., their prevalence ratio was between (0.19%-4.85%). A number of 673 CFUs were also isolated from the atmosphere surrounding the hospital. The specimen included 10 genera which were classified into 32 species. The most widespread species were: Cladosporium spp (28.38%), followed by Aspergillus spp. with a prevalence ratio of 26%,whereas the prevalence ratio of the following species Fusarium spp., Alternaria spp., and Penicillium spp. Was approximate to each other. These are 12.78 %, 12.48% and 11.29 % respectively.
