المستخلص: يعد حنا خياط من الشخصيات التي أدت أدورا مهمة وبارزة خلال سنوات حياته على الأصعدة الأدبية والسياسية والعلمية والاجتماعية المختلفة، فعلى الصعيد الثقافي كان لحنا خياط دور مهم من خلال تأليفه العديد من الكتب الطبية منها: لمحى في التيفوئيد عام 1911 مطبعة الآباء الدومينيكان، كتاب تناقص النفوس في العراق سياسة وطرق علاجه عام 1923، كتاب الطب العدلي طبع في المطبعة الحديثة في بغداد عام 1925، رسالة في الهواء الأصفر، الدليل في مسالك الطب القانوني، كتاب الطب العدلي، كذلك قام بتأليف كتاب الأيام تتكلم في حياته وسيرته ولكنه لم يطبع للنشر. أما على الصعيد الاجتماعي ولاسيما المجال الطبي فقد امتهن حنا خياط أدوارا مهمة في هذا المجال من خلال تميزه وتشخيصه للأوضاع الصحية، مما اكسبه خبرة في أدارة شؤون لبلاد مما جعله يكون أول وزير صحة عراقي في العهد الملكي، وفي مناقشة الأمور المتعلقة بوزارته والتي أثمرت وأعطت مسارا حقيقيا ومنهجا واضحا في خدمة المجتمع العراقي، وإصلاحاته فى الشؤون الصحية، وإدارته للعديد من الجمعيات الطبية، من خلال وضعه خطة إصلاحية لمدة عشر سنوات تتضمن الأمور الصحية والاجتماعية للبلاد. أما على الصعيد السياسي فقد كان دوره واضحا كونه انتخب نائبا عن ولاية الموصل في مجلس النواب العراقي في دورته الانتخابية العاشرة للفترة من (تشرين الأول عام 1943-وحتى تشرين الثاني عام 1946، استمر حنا خياط في نشاطه العلمي والصحي، على الرغم من تدهور حالته الصحية وقلة حركته، فقد شارك في عضوية إعادة الهيئة التأسيسية لجمعية مكافحة التدرن عام 1954، توفي في 30 نيسان عام 1959 في بغداد.

Gradually, his health deteriorated and he died on April 30, 1959 in Baghdad.
