المستخلص: أن الاستمرار السريع الذي يشهده العالم لتطور المعلومات وزيادة حجمها وسهولة الوصول إليها برغم الإيجابية التي لا يستطيع أحد إنكارها؛ أفرز وجها سلبيا أثر في سلوك استخدام الأفراد للمعلومات؛ ظهر معه ما يسمى بتلوث المعلومات، مثل صعوبة التحكم في ضبط مصداقية المعلومات وأمنها وأخلاقياتها وتأثيرها في المستخدمين وغيرها من القضايا التي تناقشها الدراسة من خلال بناء إطار نظري من مراجعة الإنتاج الفكري المرتبط بالموضوع؛ وكذلك تحليل نتائج أداة الدراسة التي أثبتت أهم نتائجها إجماع معظم المشاركين من مجتمع الدراسة على وجود تلوث في مصادر المعلومات؛ مع اتفاق غالبية المشاركين على أن الكتب ثم المكتبة من أكثر مصادر المعلومات مصداقية ونقاء من تلوث المعلومات.
كما أشارت النتائج إلى أن أبرز مظاهر تلوث المعلومات يتمثل في سهولة تحريف المعلومات وتزويدها؛ في حين أن أبرز المشكلات تتمثل في بناء ثقافة معلوماتية هشة غير حقيقية رغم وجود تضخم حجم للمعلومات. وعليه أوصت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات التي تصنع رؤيا جديد لأدوار مؤسسات المعلومات ومجالاتها الوظيفية المختلفة للعاملين فيها تؤثر في النمو المعرفي والتنمية بشكل عام.

The rapid continuation seen by the world in the information development, its increasing size and the easy accessibility to it, despite the fact that no one can deny, has produced a negative impact on the behavior of the use of information by individuals. Thre emerged with it what is known as information pollution, such as the difficulty of controlling the credibility, security and morality of information and impact on users and other issues discussed in the study by building a theoretical framework of reviewing the intellectual production related to the subject; as well as analyzing the results of the study tool, the main findings of which proved that most participants from the study community agreed that there was pollution in the sources of information; with the majority of participants agreeing that books and then the library are among the most important credible sources of information free from corruption.
The findings also indicated that the most significant manifestations of information pollution are the ease of it being distorted and provided, while the most significant problem is the building of a fragile and unreal information culture despite an inflated volume of information. Accordingly, the study recommended a number of recommendations that create a new vision for the roles of information institutions and their different functional areas that affect knowledge growth and development in general.
