المستخلص: يعد نمو النشاط السياحي والتخطيط لتنميته المستدامة أحد أبرز الظواهر الاقتصادية والاجتماعية العالمية في القرن الحادي والعشرين حيث أصبح هدفا تسعى إليه البلدان لضمان استمراره ومساهمته لتحسين الوضع الاقتصادي والخدمي في الحاضر والمستقبل. ولما كانت المملكة العربية السعودية تتمتع بمقومات طبيعية متنوعة، فقد أولت هذا النشاط اهتماماً كبيراً؛ حيث برز ذلك من إسهامه في الدخل القومي حين بلغ عدد السياح 18.000.000 سائحاً خلال عام 2014 م وبعائدات مالية بلغت 16 مليار دولار: أي ما نسبته 36.20 % و 32 % على التوالي في منطقة الشرق الأوسط. ورغم الجهود المبذولة في سبيل تنمية السياحية عموماً والبحرية خاصة وتطويرها بساحل عسير، إلا أن تلك المواقع تعاني من معوقات ترتبط بهذا النشاط. وقد سعت هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز الإمكانات الطبيعية والبشرية للسياحة الشاطئية لساحل عسير بتوظيف GIS & RSلإبراز فرص وتحديات هذا النشاط، معتمدةً على المنهج الموضوعي، والوصفي والتحليلي لاستخلاص بيانات رقمية من المرئيات ولبناء نموذج رقمي DEM وتوظيف الخرائط الجيولوجية والطبوغرافية، والأساليب الإحصائية لمعالجة بيانات الدراسة. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى اتسام الساحل بموقعه المميز وبتنوعه وصلاحيته لأنماط سياحية متنوعة برية وبحرية. وختاماً، توصي الدراسة بضرورة بناء قاعدة بيانات بيئية وسياحية شاملة ونشرها، وتوطين الأنشطة والخدمات السياحية وسرعة إنجاز مشاريع البنية الأساسية، وربط المنطقة بظهيرها والاهتمام بالجانب التسويقي.

Substantial growth and planning for creating sustainable tourist activity is one of the leading global economic and social phenomena in the twentieth century. Thus planning for the development and sustainability of this sector has become a target for countries that seek to ensure the sustainability of this sector, given its significant contribution to the improvement of the economic status and service sector at the present and in the future. Given the fact that Saudi Arabia enjoys a variety of natural resources, the authorities have given this activity much attention. The significance of this sector emerges in its important contribution to the national income, given that the number of tourists reached 18,000,000 in 2014, with financial revenues totaling up to $ 16 billion, accounting for 36.20% and 32 %, respectively, in the Middle East. However, despite of efforts to the development of tourism in general and maritime tourism in particular, and efforts exerted for the development of Aseer region, especially its coastal strip, these touristic sites are still suffering from a number of constraints inasmuch as tourist activity is concerned. This study sought to highlight the natural and human potentials of beach tourism along the coasts of Aseer, employing GIS & RS to explore the topographical and geological potentials of this region and to highlight the opportunities and challenges of this activity. For this purpose, an objectively verifiable descriptive and analytical approach has been adopted to glean digital data extracted from DEM visuals to build a digital model by utilizing geological and topographical maps and other statistical methods to analyze the study data. Finally, the study concluded that the coasts of Aseer region are characterized by diversity and unique locations that are suitable for a variety of maritime and terrain tourist activities. The study recommends building a comprehensive database for ecological and touristic activities. The study also recommends the dissemination and naturalization of tourist activities and tourist services and suggests expediting the construction of infrastructure projects intended to connect the region to its fullback. Recommended also is that authorities should pay more attention to the marketing of tourism in the region.
