المستخلص: The purpose of this study was to investigate the views and perceptions of members of the faculty at Al-quds University and the level of the relationship between the university and surrounding community, as well as to detect the strengths and weaknesses in this relationship. The Society of this study includes 400 teachers from the academic staff. The researcher has used a questionnaire after is being judged and made certain of its validity and credibility, the questionnaire consists of 41 items distributed on three fields, that is the development of society employees and students. The questions were various in regard of development follow up and services offered from the University to the society. The high mean was 4.28 in favors of (The University seeks to establish distinguish programs which not available at other local Universities item), on the other item which is (As a member of academic staff to do administrative work in order to develop the outcome was less mean 1.84). The study came to conclusion there are statistically significant at (a = 0.05) between the responsive of academic staff at the University that are attributed to gender and experience. But there are no statistically differences that are attributed to the position of the academic staff for the same level. In the light finding the researcher has recommended to introduce new category and standards in order to establish relationship between the Society and university in the best was possible better condition encourages the academic staff to support the idea of development of society and graduated student.

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة آراء وتصورات أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية في جامعة القدس وما مستوى هذه العلاقة بين الجامعة والمجتمع المحيط بها، بالإضافة إلى كشف نقاط القوة والضعف في هذه العلاقة. تكون مجتمع الدراسة من أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية والبالغ عددهم 400 عضو، حيث استخدم الباحث الاستبانة بعد تحكيمها والتأكد من صدقها وثباتها، وقد اشتملت الاستبانة على (41) فقرة تم توزيعها على ثلاثة مجالات: وهي تنمية المجتمع وتنمية الموظفين، وتنمية الطلبة، وتنوعت الأسئلة من حيث التطوير والمتابعة والخدمات المقدمة من قبل الجامعة للمجتمع، وكان أعلى متوسط حسابي قدره 4.28، لبند) تسعى الجامعة لتأسيس برامج مميزة غير موجودة في الجامعات المحلية)، في حين بند (ترغب كعضو هيئة تدريسية في العمل الإداري بهدف التنمية) فقد حصل على أقل متوسط وقدره 1.84. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى أنه توجد فروقات ذات دلالة إحصائية عند المستوى 0.05 بين استجابات أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية في جامعة القدس تعزى لمتغير الجنس والخبرة. ولا توجد فروقات ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى إلى وظيفة عضو هيئة التدريس لنفس المستوى. وبناء على النتائج تم تقديم التوصيات منها وضع معايير ومقاييس معينة من شأنها توطيد العلاقة بين المجتمع والجامعة بشكل أفضل، وتشجيع أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية لدعم وفكرة تنمية المجتمع والطلبة الخريجين.
