استهدف المقال تقديم قراءة من كتاب المسيحيون في المشرق العربي نحو دولة المواطنة. وتناول الكتاب عدة نقاط. الديمقراطية ودولة القانون. وحقوق الإنسان وتطبيقات الفكر الإسلامي المعاصر على غير المسلمين. كما ناقش مسألة الهويات سواء دينية أو نهائية أو سرمدية. وتناول قضية هامة وهي أسباب استهداف المسيحيين مع تزامن نشوء تيار أصولي متطرف ومتعصب سواء اتخذ اسم تنظيمات القاعدة أو داعش أو جبهة النصرة أو أي مسمي آخر. وواكبة احتلال العراق وما تركه من ردود أفعال على شعوب المنطقة. واختتم المقال بأن المسيحيون جزء من النسيج الاجتماعي والسياسي والتاريخي لبلدان المنطقة وشعوبها. وإن المسيحيين ليسوا أقلية فلأن أغلبيتهم عرب وهؤلاء بالطبع أغلبية في بلدانهم. كما أن الأكثرية الساحقة منهم ترى أن الرابط العروبي وخصوصا اللغة العربية هو الذي يجمعهم بأوطانهم وبشركائهم. ودورهم التنويري والحداثوى ومساهمتهم في نضال أمتهم وشعوبها من أجل انبعاثها الحضاري. وأوصى الكتاب بضرورة تقديم رؤى وتصورات وطرح حلول وإجابات. والحاجة إلى حوار معرفي وموضوعي بحيث تنسجم المقدمات النظرية الحقوقية مع الاستنتاجات العملية ولا يترك للأحكام المسبقة أن تأخذ طريقها في إطار البحث العلمي. وتكوين رأى عام مجتمعي يؤمن بالمشترك الإنساني ويقر بمبادئ المساواة والعدالة والشراكة في فضاء من الحرية. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The article aimed at presenting a reading from the book of "Christians in the Arab Mashreq (east): towards a state of citizenship". The book dealt with several points: democracy, the rule of law and the human rights. Additionally, the applications of the contemporary Islamic thought to the non-Muslims. It also discussed the case of identity, whether religious, final or eternal. Moreover, the article dealt with an important case, which is the reasons for targeting Christians coincided with the emergence of an extremist and fanatical fundamentalist movement, whether under the name of Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Al-Nusra Front or any other name. It was at the same time of the occupation of Iraq and its reactions to the peoples of the region. The article concludes that Christians are part of the social, political and historical fabric of the countries and peoples of the region. Christians are not a minority because most of them are Arabs, and of course, a majority in their own countries. Furthermore, the vast majority of them believe that the Arab links, especially the Arabic language, is the one element that brings them together with their countries and their partners. In addition to their enlightening and modern role and their contribution to the struggle of their nation and peoples for its cultural renaissance. The book recommended the need to provide visions, perceptions and offer solutions and answers. As well as the need for a knowledge-based and objective dialogue so that the theoretical concepts of rights are in line with the practical conclusions and do not allow prejudices to take their place in the context of the scientific research.
