يهدف البحث إلى إظهار الأثر التفسيري الذي يقدمه المتعاطي مع تحليل النص القرآني في المعجم العربي، فقد كان لهذا المحلل أثر في القول بترادف الألفاظ أو عدمه، لأنه يعمد مرة إلى تفسير لفظ بآخر دون تفصيل أو بيان أو شرح، وأخرى يفسر اللفظ بآخر لكنه يبحث عن فرق بين اللفظين، ويجد سبباً لاستعمال هذا دون ذاك. ولذلك كان المعجمي يجد في المفسر سبباً مقنعاً يعول عليه عندما يصرح بترادف لفظين أو وجود فرق بينهما. وهنا لابد من الإشارة إلى أن العلاقة بين الترادف والفروق اللغوية هي علاقة تغاير أو تضاد، وكان يفترض أن تعزل الألفاظ التي قيل بترادفها في حقل، والألفاظ التي قيل بوجود فرق دلالي بينها في حقل آخر، لكننا لم نفعل ذلك انطلاقاً من فكرة عدم تطابق الألفاظ القرآنية في ما بينها تطابقاً تاماً، ولابد من وجود اختلاف بينها ولو على نحو بسيط، وسنحاول في نهاية كل لفظين سواء اتفق المفسر واللغوي على ترادفهما أم لم يتفقا الكشف عن ما يحتمله كل واحد منها من دلالة خاصة به لا يوحيها اللفظ الآخر.
