The Carthaginian religion has clearly marked the traits and the echo of an important civilization in the western Mediterranean, of which a very powerful and popular god Ba'al Hammon has long held this religion. To express their strong belief and attachment, the Carthaginians did not hesitate to grant their lord the strongest human and animal sacrifices. The baalic cult persisted after the Roman occupation, since Ba'al Saturn also enjoyed the same celebrity. |
