المستخلص: The study aims at describing the various influences of the relationship between journalists and police men as news sources on information accessibility, free flow of information and ethics of professional practices in Egypt as a model of developing country which has many problems and challenges especially in this transitional period. The study particularly seeks to reveal the main characteristics of the relationship between Egyptian journalists and police men as news sources, different obstacles which affect negatively the free flow of information, to what extent the relationship is affected by different political developments in Egypt, what are the main variables which affect information accessibility by focusing on Egyptian journalists’ opinions and attitudes towards this relationship in order to know its effects on the free flow of information which is considered as the comer stone in audience's right to know. By a survey conducted among journalists (N = 103) from private, state and partisan newspapers, the results revealed that there are different difficulties affect negatively their relationship, their professional practices and information accessibility.
