المستخلص: This study aims to show how fertility has changed in Algeria over the past five decades. The study identifies the objectives, basic concepts of the study, and the sources of data collection on fertility in the introduction. It then begins to analyze the evolution of fertility and determine its trends in the light of many statistical documents and the results of national surveys in the first stage. Then, in the second stage, we tend to highlight differences in fertility according to factors of an economic, social, and demographic nature, namely education level and accommodation standard, to understand Algerian women's reproductive behavior better. These approaches have enabled us to identify the trend taken by fertility in Algeria, its main trends, and determinants. This abstract was translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc

إن الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو عرض كيف تغيرت الخصوبة في الجزائر على مدى العقود الخمسة الماضية. فبعد أن حددنا في المقدمة أهداف الدراسة ومفاهيمها الأساسية ومصادر جمع البيانات الخاصة بالخصوبة، سوف نشرع في مرحلة أولى في تحليل تطور الخصوبة وتحديد اتجاهاتها، في ضوء العديد من الوثائق الإحصائية ونتائج المسوح الوطنية، ثم نتجه في مرحلة ثانية إلى إبراز الفوارق في الخصوبة وفقا لبعض العوامل ذات الطبيعة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والديمغرافية وهما المستوى التعليمي ووسط. الإقامة وذلك من أجل فهم أفضل للسلوك الإنجابي للمرأة الجزائرية. هذا وقد مكنتنا هذه المقاربات من تحديد النزعة التي اتخذتها الخصوبة في الجزائر واتجاهاتها ومحدداتها الرئيسة.

L'objet de cette étude est de présenter comment s'est évolue la fécondité en Algérie au cours de cinq dernières décennies. Après avoir précisé en introduction les objectifs et les concepts de l’étude ainsi que les sources de données, nous proposerons une description synthétique de la transition de la fécondité, à la lumière de nombreux documents statistiques et de rapports d’enquêtes, nous expliquerons ensuite les liens entre la fécondité et ses déterminants pour mieux comprendre le comportement procréateur des femmes algériennes. Ces approches- nous ont permis, de dégager les tendances de la fécondité et de mettre en évidence ses différentiels selon certaines caractéristiques: le niveau d’instruction et la strate de résidence.
