المستخلص: "Al-Ifa Talisman" is a novel by Taoufik Aloui. It traces the journey of a young man coming from the village to the capital city, as a student then an intellectual and successiful. It was published amongst his first narrative works under the pseudonym «Al-Ifa Houimel» ashamed of his name. When his works become famous, the regime had opened an investigation against the unknown and disguised author. Perhaps the importance of this «Talisman» lies in considering it as a cultural talisman and unbiased and sentimental alternative for the political, social and cultural realities dominated by injustice and tyranny. «Al-Ifa Talisman» adopts a strategy based on mixing the ideological with the aesthetical, the realistic with the fictional, the historical with the artistic, the biographical with the narrative, and the colloquial with the standart language with a superb complex and corresponding style. Therefore, that text shows a wonderful ability in embodying the dialectics of languages and discourse, the literary and non-literary, the sacred and sacrilegious, and the habitual and abandoned styles. So, we intended to study the effect of all of that on coming up with the novel interpretation.
