المصحف الكريم هو كتاب الله المنزل على نبيه الكريم ومعجزة الرسول ((صلى الله عليه واله وسلم))، ويعتبر دستور المسلمين وأساس التشريع الإسلامي الذي لا يقبل الشك والاختلاف، وقد وجد اهتماما كبيرا من قبل المسلمين على مر العصور بدءا من عهد الرسول ((صلى الله عليه واله وسلم))، للحفاظ عليه ونشر نسخه على المسلمين ليزدادوا تعلما وهذا ما كانت تحرص عليه الدولة العربية الإسلامية أذ بدأ نسخ المصحف الشريف في بداية نشوء أول دولة عربية إسلامية بعد الرسول الكريم(صلى الله عليه واله وسلم) وبالتحديد في عهد الخلفاء الراشدين (رضي الله عنهم) وبعد ذلك أخذت الدول المتعاقبة دورها في هذا المضمار ليشهد دستورنا الشريف عناية منقطعة النظير في مختلف أنحاء الدولة العربية الإسلامية. أما هذا البحث فيسلط الضوء على جزء من الدولة العربية الإسلامية وهي دولة الموحدين في الأندلس التي زادت من عنايتها واهتمامها بالمصحف الشريف فضلا عن وجود النسخة الأصلية وانتقالها من مدينة إلى أخرى حتى أصبحت بحوزتهم للحفاظ عليها كيف لا وهي من الذخائر النادرة التي خلدها المسلمون على مر العصور لذا من الطبيعي تكون لنسخة المصحف الشريف عناية خاصة لديهم وهذا ما يتناوله بحثنا هذا. قسم البحث إلى مطلبين تناول المطلب الأول تعريف ورسم المصحف الشريف كذلك نسخ المصحف وأعداد هذه النسخ فضلا عن الأسباب التي دعت المسلمين إلى نسخه، أما المطلب الثاني فقد خصص إلى اهتمام الدولة الموحدية بالمصحف الشريف وكيفية كسوته وأين وصل الحال بالنسخة الأصلية التي وصلت إليهم، لنختمه بخاتمة بينت أهم ما وصل إليه البحث ثم الهوامش وقائمة المصادر والمراجع التي تم الاعتماد عليها في هذا البحث وملخص باللغة الإنكليزية.
