تكتسب دراسة العلاقات الدولية أهمية تاريخية وسياسية خاصة، لكونها تشكل معينا مهما من المعلومات للباحث المتخصص، لاسيما وأن دراسة تلك العلاقات يعد مؤشرا لقوة أو لضعف الروابط السياسة بين العديد من الدول، لذا فإن أهمية موضوع العلاقات الأمريكية– البريطانية يجب أن لا ينحصر ضمن مفهومه الحرفي الضيق لأن ذلك يقلل الكثر من أهمية الموضوع الحقيقة الذي يتجاوز التعامل الثنائي بين البلدين إلى مدى انعكاس العلاقات بينهما على واقع ومستقبل القارة الأوربية في ذلك الوقت، ومن جهة أخرى مدى تأثير الواقع السياسي الأوربي على العلاقات السياسية بينهما، وفي هذا الاتجاه تأتى دراستنا للعلاقة الأمريكية– البريطانية خلال سنوات (194- ١٩٤١ م) لتسلط الضوء على أهمية تلك العلاقات للطرفين، والإحاطة بتعقيداتها المتشابكة بهدف فهم غموضها والعوامل التي تؤثر عليهما
Gaining the study of international relations the importance of historical, political, special for being a certain important information for the researcher specialist, especially since the study of these relationships is an indication of the strength or weakness of political ties between many countries, so the importance of U.S. relation- the British should not be confined within the concept literal narrow because it reduces a lot of the real importance of the subject which goes beyond the bilateral deal between the two countries to the reflection of the relations between the reality and the future of the European continent at the time, and on the other hand the impact of the European political reality on the political relations between them. In this direction comes our study of the relations of the U.S.- British during the years(1940- 1941), to highlight the importance of these relations for both sides, and take Ptaqidadtha interlocking in order to understand its vagueness and the factors that affect them, particularly in the stage difficult, which fought the Europe midst of World War II.
