|b Analyzing the geopolitical dimensions of a state’s location is considered one of the natural and major bases; it is of a special importance for it determines whether a certain location is strategic or marginal, as well as it is a key factor that strengthens or weakens the cultural communication and military importance it the regional and international surrounding. Sea and ocean coasts played an important role in the lives of the people where harbors were erected, tourism flourished, natural resources exploited, connections with outside world, as well as being very important military sites. Undoubtedly, the strategic location of an area is a widely opened gate to the world's nations. Political and military conflicts over a location like Tartus are all, as the research has proved, because of its strategic importance for the Russian politics which won't hesitate to have control over it whatever the consequences might be.

|a إن تحليل الأبعاد الجيوبولتيكية لموقع الدولة أو جزء منها الذي يعد أحد المقومات الطبيعية الرئيسة وهو ذو أهمية خاصة كونه يحدد موقعا استراتيجيا أو هامشيا فضلا عن كونه عاملا أساسيا في قوة درجة الاتصال الحضاري وضعفه والأهمية العسكرية في بعض الأحيان مع المحيط الإقليمي والدولي. لقد أدت السواحل البحرية والمحيطية دورا مهما في حياة الشعوب في إقامة الموانئ والسياحة واستغلال الثروات والاتصال بالعالم الخارجي فضلا عن أنها مواقع عسكرية مهمة جدا. لا شك أن الموقع الاستراتيجي المهم لأية منطقة يؤدي دورا نافذا إلى جميع دول العالم وفي الصراعات السياسية والعسكرية حوله، مثل موقع طرطوس التي اثبت البحث أثرها في السياسة الاستراتيجية لروسيا والتي تضحي بالغالي والنفيس في سبيل إستمرار سيطرتها عليها.
