This study aims to shed a light on a very sensitive stage of historical and political development and regional stand towards the Mahadya state during Herbert Kitchener campaign for Sudan. The study concentrates to reflect the stance and role of the neighboring state of Abyssinia for the invasion of Sudan because some people appreciated the stance of Emperor Menelik towards invasion of Sudan and made him as a figure of African people unity but realities reflected the opposites of these facts besides some people portrayed the Sudanese nation and its leaders for example Caliph Abdullah at that time by nervous and extremist symbol. The study aims as well to describe the Sudan nation ability and power and how it dealt with that crisis diplomatically and politically. This paper also aims to reflect these experiences to the rising generations to ensure that Sudanese people and its leaders have a mettle and genius that qualified to react with all periods according to its own circumstances. The paper also tries to reveals the cover that kept on that era of our nation history, the era of Mahadya state and how it was able to confront the external challenge. The study raised a number of questions on stance of Emperor Menelik which seemed in its appearance a mercy where as its invisible view a full support of colonizing states in order to spilt Sudan then the study reviewed a number of hypotheses such as Caliph Abdullah was belonging to the Islamic diplomatic school which does not know lies and deception also has shown that Emperor Menelik was dishonest in his stance and view with western neighboring state of Mahadya. The study concluded by a number of results such as the Mahadya state had well established ,active and activated institutions with its regional surrounds in spite the great pressure on it and has its own insignias , signs and diplomats who were able to reflect its views and welcome its visiting guests. Emperor Menelik used to reflect in his positive messages but the real stances were opposite what he was writing beside its capital Addis Ababa was a point of several problems towards Sudan , Mahadya state since its emergence as revolutionary state did not welcome by eastern neighboring state of Abyssinia particularly during the reign of Yohannes and his predecessor Emperor Menelik who found in Sudan a chance to expand its lands towards the west in spite the Mahady state was on view that its great battle to move forward by its liberation towards the north (Egypt).
