This paper deals with the general reasons for a revolution and tries to explain human psyche in its mutable and immutable conditions through which the process of revolution passes. It makes a special reference to Egypt to see how the early and contemporary scholars have looked at the Egyptian psyche. The paper gives a new perspective on the Egyptian psyche in the light of different social dynamics and challenges which this nation faces. The main question is: what is that which makes man incline toward a certain line of action under all conditions? Is it culture, episteme, geography or history? And to what extent does the society influence individuals’ role differentiating a particular group of people from others? Is a specific human society having a particular geographical location is bound to undergo change due to that socio geographical location? The paper draws the conclusion that it was the prolonged contradiction with history and logic, in which Egyption people lived since decades being fed the notion that only by standing along with the ruling party could they survive, which forced the Egyption revolution of 2011 to take place. At the same time, newly available means of information played an important role in charging the emotions and brains of people against suppressive instruments of power. The majority of people were convinced that their situation was not only bad but was going to be worse with time. The flux of information led to the formation of a group of youngsters who might not have deeply reflected on the situation but they knew and sensed the problem of the time and its graveness which was enough for the trigger to be pushed. |
