المستخلص: The present article focuses on the study of methodology and substance of al- Targh b wa al-Tarh b by Im m Mundhir, to provide an evaluation of the book regarding both dimensions, along with the explanation of some key terms wrongly understood by the common people. It also shows the expertise of the author in the sciences of ad th as reflected in his comments about the narrators of ad th with regard to soundness and authenticity or otherwise. The article concludes that the readers must not rely only on the methodology described in the preamble of the book, due to the ambiguity and possible flaws in its application. His comments on the A d th and reporters, in the writer's view, may not be considered as a final judgment in every case since the author dictated this book from his memory that, in all probability, left, some mistakes in reporting traditions.
