المستخلص: Identity of a people, society and culture is vital for preserving its existence and progress. Every human group can progress in relation to its ability to maintain its distinct identity among the host of cultural entities existing in the world. Of all cultures and civilizations of the past or present, Muslims have had a distinct identity of their own. This is reflected in their creed, culture, moral values, social norms and mores. They always maintained their distinctness on the basis of their peculiar identity. In the past, when they had been strongly conscious and observant of their identity, they exercised great influence in the world and left a visible mark on history. In the recent times, however, thanks to alien culturally dominating influences, their sense of identity has been weakening. There is dire need to work earnestly to revive this identity particularly among the youth.
