المستخلص: The writer underlines the core value of Taw d in Islamic creed and highlights the central place which this cardinal doctrine of Islam has occupied in the Islamic tradition. He tells us about the profound discussion this doctrine has generated among various schools of theology. Thereafter, he proceeds to shed light on the contribution of the masters to elaborate the meaning and significance of Taw d in the life of a believer, showing the distinctive quality of the f discourse. The writer also compares this comprehensive multidimensional Islamic discourse to the views held in other creeds and cultures about monotheism. In the latter, the author finds, often times, the absoluteness of the ultimate status of Divine Essence and Attributes is more or less compromised. In sum, this paper brings to light the profound philosophical, theological moral and spiritual dimensions of Taw d as elaborated in the Islamic scholarly tradition and has been operational in the life of the believers in contradistinction to other creeds and cultures.
