المستخلص: The writer takes up a vertical aspect of inimitable eloquence of Qur’anic communication. He identifies some unique words and expressions that have been employed by the Qur’an to convey the meaning with inimitable eloquence. These words and expressions are without parallel in the Arabic linguistic tradition. The writer also surveys the early literary and linguistic sources to demonstrate the fact that classical scholarship of the Qur’an had been cognizant of this unique feature of the Qur’an, though it did not figure in their discussions in detail. According to the writer, these words occur in the Qur’an by the precise requirement of the context. This is why these are never repeated whenever there is slightest variation in that requirement. This feature of the Qur’an is yet another evidence of the inimitability of the Qur’an, the writer concludes.
