The preliminary investigation The preliminary investigation is divided into three sections: 1- Definition of inheritance. 2- Grounds for inheritance. 3- Preventives of inheritance. Chapter One This chapter discusses the contention between a widow and her husband's heirs over one of the grounds for inheritance (marriage). The chapter is divided into three sections: i- A widow's dispute with her husband's heirs over the existence of the marriage. ii- A widow's dispute with her husband's heirs over the validity of the marriage (the wife's consent). iii- A widow's dispute with her husband's heirs over the status of the marriage, whether it was continuing at the time of the husband's death or the spouses were divorced.
