عنوان هذه الورقة جعفر محمد عثمان خليل ناقداً من خلال مخطوتاته النقدية وهي محاولة لإبراز إنتاجه النقدي أنه على قدر كبير من الثقافة والفكر بل له فكره الخاص به وبمنهجه في الحياة وله قدرته البارعة على استخدام اللغة الفصحى والتزامها والتأنق فيها أحياناً وتطويعها في براعة فائقة وقد أعانه على ذلك ذخيرته اللغوية الواسعة وقدرته على الاشتقاق وإحياء الألفاظ التي تقتضيها المواقف، وأيضاً قدرته على تحليل النصوص وتذوقها وإصدار أحكامه غالباً دون الاحتفال بالتعليل لها وفي تحليله يؤول على المتعة باللذة والذوق عند قراءته للنصوص فذوقه مرهف تسنده ثقافة أدبية ونقدية واسعة ومتنوعة. دراسة شاعرنا للنصوص القديمة وإبرازها كنماذج في مبادئه النقدية من إلمام بكل ما يوصل إلى فهم النص وظروفه التي قيل فيه وفي عصره وتأثرها به وما سبقه. ويخضع في تحليله النقدي للمنهج التأثري وهو منهج يصدر فيه أصحابه القواعد ومقاييس نقديه محددة لا يحفلون فيه بتعليل أحكامهم، فنجد أن مخطوطته كليمات في الشعر من خيرة ما كتبه وأوثقها تعبيراً عن فكره النقدي لما تحتوي عليه من مادة نقدية واسعة تكاد تعرض منهجه في نقد الشعر، وأيضاً تدلنا على أنه كان مشغولاً بالبحث عن تعريف دقيق للشعر ليتخذ منه مدخلاً إلى ماهية هذا الفن، وأيضاً تناولت الورقة تقابله بين اللغة العربية والصومالية وقد أثبت أن هناك قرابة بين اللغة الصومالية والعربية وأنها ترجع إلى أصل واحد ولذلك قابل بين اللغتين مقابلة غايتها تجلية التقارب وتوضيحه وإبراز ما فيهما من سمات مشتركة، وأيضاً تناولت الورقة معجمه وهو معجم لغوي يؤكد علمية نقده ومنهجية تذوقه فأخذ على كثير من المصطلحات المستخدمة في حياتنا اليومية كثيراً من الأخطاء اللغوية مصوباً ومصححاً مستدلاً بالقياس والشواهد النحوية والقول المأثور، وقد حشد كل إمكاناته لتناولاته النقدية وقدراته على التحليل والتعبير والتركيز والحكم معاً لكل نص ومفردة، إلا أنه يرى أنه لا يصح الاعتداد بالقياس على المسموع لتصويب بعض المفردات، لأن القياس سلاح ذو حدين كما يقول المحدثون أو المترجمون.
