|f The follower of the tale of Dik al-Jinn al-Himsî and the course of his life in history books, would find in front of him a heterogeneous mixture of historical news and novels, at a time when some of those tale show him as a libertine, populist and heretic, we see him in other historical sources as a pious man characterized by great virtues. It seems to us that this contradiction was only part of the process of distortion that this character has unfairly received from some of the writers of literary books deliberately and intentionally, and sometimes inadvertently as a result of the transmission of some of the offensive tales without investigation and scrutiny.\nThe purpose of writing this research was to shed light on the facts that have been hidden and still are, about the personality of Dik al-Jinn, hoping that we will arrive in our research to this conclusion.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc 2018.

|a إن المتتبع لأخبار ديك الجن الحمصي ومسارات حياته حياته في كتب التأريخ، سيجد أمامه خليطا غير متجانس من الأخبار والروايات التاريخية ففي الوقت التي تظهره بعض تلك الأخبار أنسانا ماجنا خليعا شعوبيا، زنديقا، نراه في مصادر تاريخية أخري رجلا عفا يمتاز بفضائل جمة، وعلى ما يبدو لنا أن هذا التناقض لم يكن سوي جزء من عملية التشويه التي نالت هذه الشخصية ظلما من قبل البعض من كتاب الكتب الأدبية عن عمد وقصد، وعن عمد وقصد، وعن غير عمد في بعض الأحيان نتيجة لنقل بعض الأخبار المسيئة له من دون تحقيق وتمحيص.\nإن الهدف من كتابة هذا البحث كان لإماطة اللثام عن الحقائق التي أخفت ولا تزال عن شخصية ديك الجن الحقيقية آملين أن نصل في بحثنا إلى هذه النتيجة.
