ان استثمار الأراضي الزراعية بالاعتماد على المقومات الطبيعية والبشرية وبشكل علمي مدروس وصيانة تلك المقومات باستدامتها، ثم تحديد المناطق المتشابهة بالإمكانيات البيئية الزراعية المتاحة وتحديد العوامل المحددة للزراعة، لتحديد الموقع الأفضل أو الملائم لزراعة كل محصول، تساهم في بناء قاعدة لتنمية زراعية مستدامة في المحافظة. تتمحور هذه الدراسة حول أساسيات وتفاصيل زراعة وإنتاج المحاصيل الزراعية في محافظة النجف بهدف الكشف عن التباين المكاني لزراعتها وإنتاجها وواقع توزيعها الجغرافي. بالاعتماد على البيانات الزراعية للمدة ما بين (2004م -2014م) بحسب الوحدات الإدارية على مستوى النواحي، في حين اعتمدت الدراسة في تحليل البيانات وتوصيفها على المنهج الوصفي والتأكد من النتائج التي توصلت إليها هذه الدراسة. وبنيت الدراسة على مبحثين، فضلاً عن المقدمة والاستنتاجات والتوصيات. تناول المبحث الأول تحليل جغرافي للنشاط الزراعي في منطقة الدراسة، أما المبحث الثاني فقد تناول استراتيجيات التنمية الزراعية المستدامة في منطقة الدراسة ووضع السبل الكفيلة للنهوض بالواقع الزراعي وتحقيق هدف التنمية الزراعية المستدامة لمنطقة الدراسة.

Depending on the agricultural data for the period between ( 2004-2014), according to the administrative units at the level of respects, while the study is based on data analysis and characterization of the descriptive approach and ensure that the findings of this study. The study built on two topics, as well as the introduction and conclusions and recommendations. Eating the first part, a geographical analysis of agricultural activity in the study area, while the second section dealt with sustainable agricultural development strategies in the study area and to develop ways to the advancement of agricultural reality and achieve the goal of sustainable agricultural development of the study area
