يتناول البحث (شبة ركون النبي (صل الله وعليه وسلم) إلى المشركين عند المفسرين) الخطأ المنهجي التفسيري الذي وقع فيه المفسرين في تفسيرهم لقوله تعالي: وَإِنْ كَادُوا لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَفْتَرِيَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُ وَإِذًا لَاتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِيلًا (73) وَلَوْلَا أَنْ ثَبَّتْنَاكَ لَقَدْ كِدْتَ تَرْكَنُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا قَلِيلًا (74) إِذًا لَأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيرًا (75) (69) حيث عدوا رسول الله محمد (صلى الله عليه اله وسلم) قرب أن يميل إلى الكفار والافتتان بهم، ومنهم من قال أنه هم بالتجاوب إلى طلبهم الذي تراوح في أراء المفسرين علي ثلاثة آراء. الراي الأول: المسح على آلهتهم عند طوافة بالبيت الحرام الراي الثاني: اشتراط تثقيف لإسلامهم عدم الركوع في العبادة وعدم ترك عبادة الأصنام لسنة واحدة الراي الثالث: اشتراط قريش طرد البسطاء والفقراء من مجلسه فيقرر البحث هذه الشبهة وما تفرزة من حيثيات تتعلق بعصمة رسول الله محمد (صلى الله عليه أله وسلم) وفقا لآراء المفسرين، ومبانيهم الروائية والفكرية في عصمة النبي ويعمد في ذلك إلى منهجية نقدية في دفع تلك الشبهة، تلخصت في محورين لدفعها، وهو الدفع النقضي والدفع الحلي، ليخرج ما بين الاثنين بمحصلة دلالية، بعد سلسلة من الإجراءات تتخلل هذين الدفعين.
