يتناول هذا البحث أثر أحد اكبر أدباء الشرق عامة والعرب بخاصة ، وهو المتنبي في تكوين شخصية غوته الأدبية، فبعد استقراء بعض النصوص الأدبية المترجمة عن غوته تبين للباحث أن أثر الأدب العربي كان واضحا إلى جانب أثر الشاعر حافظ الشيرازي في أدب غوته، فقد تأثر بشخصيات تاريخية ودينية أخرى كشخصية محمد صلى الله وعليه وسلم [وآله]، وسلم وشعراء الشعر الجاهلي كامرئ القيس ، والإسلامي كقيس بن الملوح ، والعباسي كالمتنبي، وقد أسهم هؤلاء في تشكيل سمات غوته الذي فتن في بسالة العرب وفروسيتهم وقصص عشقهم إلى جانب إعجابه بموروثهم المتماسك المرتبط بعاداتهم المتوارثة مما دفعه إلى دراسة آداب العرب وفكرهم . فقد كان لشعر المتنبي وسيرته وحياته أثر في أدب غوته، ويمكن ملاحظة ذلك في أعماله: الديوان الغربي الشرقي وفاوست وكتاب الفردوس وزليخا وغيرها. وهذا يدلل على شخصية المتنبي التي شغلت الدارسين والباحثين والمستشرقين والرحالة، وهذا البحث محاولة الوقوف عل أثر شعر المتنبي في أعمال (غوته).
This research deals with the impact of one of the most prestigious writers of the East generally and the Arabs in particular, Al-Mutanabi, upon the formation of Goethe's literary personality. After examining some literary texts translated by Goethe, the researcher found that the impact of Arabic literature was evident along with the impact of the poet Hafez Al-Shirazi in the literature of Goethe, it has been affected by historical figures and other religious figures such as Muhammed (May peace be upon him and upon his kins) and by the poets of pre- Islamic poetry such as Umru' al-Qais, and the Islamic Poetry as Qays bin Al-Mulawah., and the Abbasid poetry such as Al- Mutanabi'; those had contributed to the formation of the attributes of Goethe who was fascinated by the bravery of Arabs and their chivalry and their stories of passion as well as his admiration for their coherent inheritance associated with their customs inherited which made him go for the study of the Arabs literature and their thought. Al-Mutanabbi's poetry and his biography and his life an impact on the literature of Goethe, and that could be observed in his works: "The East-West Divan," "Faust," "Book of Paradise," "Book of Zuleikha" and others. This demonstrates the personality of Al-Mutanabi that preoccupied scholars, researchers and the Orientalists and travelers, and this research is an attempt to be fully aware of Al- Mutanabi's poetry impact upon Goethe's works.
