International and regional human rights instruments include the rights guaranteed to every citizen belonging to the State. These rights have been divided into general and special rights, including the right to nationality, which is a political and legal link between the individual and the State. Individuals in the State include the child who has the nationality of the State in which he was born. Most national and international legislation recognizes a citizen the nationality of the State in which he resides. The question arose as to the extent to which Algerian legislation protected the right of a child to a nationality.
