يعتبر المسكن أحد الاحتياجات الضرورية الهامة للأفراد والذي يساعد على تشكيل بعض سلوكياتهم كما يساعده أيضا على إشباع العديد من احتياجاته الجسمية والاجتماعية والنفسية والتي تعمل على تدعيم وتوطيد العلاقات السوية بين أفراد أسرته فالمسكن المناسب يعتبر من أهم حقوق الفرد في حياة كريمة. فالمسكن يعد من أهم الاحتياجات الأساسية للإنسان وأحد الحقوق الرئيسية التي ينبغي حصوله عليها، وقد أكدت الحقائق العلمية أن المسكن غير الملائم يلعب دورا أساسيا في السلوك المنحرف، ويمكن القول بأن المسكن الملائم إن لم تتوفر فيه العلاقات الاجتماعية الإيجابية ويسوده الجو النفسي الصحي يكون أثره ضئيلاً في منع الصرعات والتوترات وما يصاحبها من انحرافات مختلفة. هدف البحث إلى: 1- إيجاد العلاقة بين أثر الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن وبين جودة الحياة الأسرية. 2- إيجاد الفروق بين الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن وبين جودة الحياة الأسرية مع متغيرات البحث. 3- الكشف عن أكثر المتغيرات تأثيرا على الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن في عينة البحث. 4- الكشف عن أكثر المتغيرات تأثيرا على جودة الحياة الأسرية في عينة البحث. توصل البحث إلى: 1- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد العينة في استبيان الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن تبعا لمتغيرات الدراسة. 2- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسط درجات أفراد العينة في جودة الحياة الأسرية تبعا لمتغيرات الدراسة. 3- وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين استبيان الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن واستبيان جودة الحياة الأسرية. 4- وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين استبيان الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن واستبيان جودة الحياة الأسرية ومتغيرات الدراسة. 5- اختلاف نسبة مشاركة العوامل المؤثرة على استغلال الفراغات الداخلية للمسكن. 6- اختلاف نسبة مشاركة العوامل المؤثرة على جودة الحياة الأسرية. أوصي البحث بـ: 1- توعية الأسرة من خلال أجهزة الإعلام المختلفة بتوفير واستقلال الفراغات المناسبة داخل المسكن لمزاولة الأنشطة المختلفة بما يتناسب مع المراحل العمرية لأفرادها. 2- عقد الندوات والدورات التدريبية لتوعية الأفراد بأهمية اختيار المسكن والقدرة على معرفة استغلال المساحة الداخلية للمسكن بما يتناسب مع احتياجاتهم الفعلية بهدف تحقيق الراحة الداخلية. 3- حث القائمين على تصميم وصناعة الأثاث بعمل وحدات أثاث متعددة الأغراض تصلح للمساحات الصغيرة وبأسعار في متناول ذوي الدخول المنخفض. 4- الأخذ بنتائج الدراسات والبحوث المتعلقة بالفراغات الداخلية للمسكن قبل تصميم الوحدات السكنية للاستفادة منها عند إنشاء المساكن.
