Objectives: The aim of the current study was to examine the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of pharmacists and Health Care Worker (HCW) who provide Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCP) to users in the jabal Awliaa localoity khartoum state. Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practice of community pharmacists (192 pharmacists) in Jabal Awliaa locality- Khartoum State during the period of 15th Aug 2014– 30th Nov 2014 by questionnaire filled by the researcher, the information can be directly collected from the pharmacist. Results: Only 6.8% of pharmacists with good knowledge oral contraceptive, while only 14.5% of them with good attitude and practice in oral contraceptive dispensing issue. 77% of respondents know the most common type of oral contraceptive for lactating women and only 16% know the justification of using minipill for lactating women. Only 30% give best advises to patient using mini pills and she missed does more than three hours and 33.4% chose best advise that should be given to patient using combined pills and she missed a does for 24 hours. This study found that there are a great association between knowledge of pharmacists and their attitude and practice in contraceptive issues. Conclusion: In general, community pharmacists in Jabal Awliaa locality with poor knowledge attitude and practice and need more intervention regarding oral contraceptives.
