When manuscripts were found in Qumran debris, the Dead Sea, certain queries rose as to the relevance of these manuscripts and the history of the region and the origin of Christianity. The ambiguity of these documents raised when many parties sought to possess them, and the delay of their publication. The present study is an attempt to fathom the competition amongst various scientific and political establishments to possess the documents. Hence, a hidden competition rose amongst the authorities responsible of the documents, like the French Biblical School until 1967 and the Israeli antiquity authority. The Vatican, consequently, was accused of the prevention of the documents publication and hiding some of their contents that have some negative, impact on the Jewish and Christian doctrines. The study relies heavily on various sources in Arabic and English.
