|a يناقش الفيلسوف كوامي أنطوني أبياه في كتابه (ميثاق الشرف: كيف تحدث الثورات الأخلاقية)، الأسباب التي تقف وراء أي تقدم أخلاقي. وفي هذا الصدد، نجد إشارته لتصور من النادر العثور على نقاش فلسفي عميق حوله: الشرف. تقدم هذه الورقة فحصاً نقدياً لادعاءات أبياه المركزية حول الشرف، وذلك من خلال اهتمام خاص بالسؤال المتعلق بتطبيق هذه النظرية، كما تحاول الإشارة إلى غموض ملازم لفكرة الشرف لدى أبياه، من كونها محرضاً للفعل اللاأخلاقي من ناحية وأداة لردع هذه الأفعال من ناحية أخرى. تفحص هذه الورقة تصور الشرف من خلال علاقته بمفاهيم عدة، مثل: الهوية، والقانون، والواجب.

|f The philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah discusses in his book “The code of Honor” how moral revolutions occur. He also discusses the reasons behind any moral development. In this regard, we find that he refers to a perception which can rarely find a deep and philosophical discussion about it: Honor or Dignity. This paper critically and minutely examines Appiah's central claims about honour through special attention to the question concerning the implementation of this theory. It also tries to point out the ambiguity of Appiah's idea of honor as it encourages immoral action on one hand and it is a tool to deter such acts on the other. This paper examines the perception of honour through its relation with several concepts such as identity, law, and duty.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018
