الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام علي نبينا وشفيعنا محمد وعلي صحبه الطيبين ومن سار علي نهجه إلى يوم الدين، فإن الاشتغال بالعلم من أفضل القربات، وقد اكرم الله أمة النبي محمد صلي الله علية وسلم وفضلها بالإسناد، ولأن أشرف العلوم بعد القرآن الكريم هي سنة المصطفي صلي الله علية وسلم، فقد هيأ الله لها رجالاً حفظوها من تأويل الجاهلين وأهل الإلحاد، وعزموا على إيصالها، وميزوا صحيحها من سقيمها، وقد وقع اختياري لأحد الصحيحين، وهو صحيح الإمام مسلم، للتعرف علي أثر البغداديين في روايته، وإظهار جهودهم في خدمة الحديث الشريف، وأن هؤلاء اتصفوا بالضبط والإتقان، أي إن جهودهم تميزت من الناحيتين: الكمية والنوعية، لذلك كان بحثي الموسوم: الرواة البغداديون في صحيح مسلم، دراسة وصفية. وقد اقتضي البحث تقسيمه بعد المقدمة على مبحثين وخاتمة: المبحث الأول: الرواة البغداديون في صحيح مسلم، وخصصته لمن لقب بالبغدادي. المبحث الثاني: الرواة الذين نزلوا بغداد في صحيح مسلم، أو الذين استوطنوها، وبعضهم دفن في بغداد، مثل الإمام أحمد بن حنبل رحمه الله. وختمت البحث بأهم النتائج التي بينت فيها أعداد الرواة البغداديون أو ممن سكن بغداد واستوطنها، كما أن إحصاء ما لكل راوٍ من عدد، له أهمية في إظهار جهود الرواة بحسب المدن من جهة، وفي التمييز بين الرواة الذين تتشابه أسماءهم، أو الذين اكتفي بذكر كناهم أو أسمائهم المجردة، مما يرفع اللبس، وكذلك التوصيات وهي دعوة لاستكمال إحصاء مرويات الصحيحين وغيرهما بحسب المدن وبيانهم من قبل الطلبة الباحثين.
