لقد زادت الحاجة في الآونة الأخيرة للأقمشة الوبرية (المناشف)؛ حيث إنها تمثل قطاعاً عريضاً من قطاعات إنتاج الأقمشة؛ لما لها من أهمية كبيرة ومتميزة في تغطية العديد من الأبعاد الاستخدامية لدى المستهلك. لذلك يهدف البحث إلى دراسة المقارنة بين الخيوط المزوية المستخدمة في نسيج الأرضية للأقمشة الوبرية بأسلوب الغزل الحلقي وغزل الطرف المفتوح لما له من مواصفات تجعله ذو قيمة وأهمية كبيرة بين الأنواع الأخرى والأساليب الأخرى من أساليب الغزل المختلفة وباستخدام قوى ضم مختلفة وكذلك عدد حدفات مختلفة في وحدة القياس وتأثير هذه المتغيرات على الخواص الميكانيكية لنسيج الأرضية في هذه الأنواع من الأقمشة مثل قوة الشد والانكماش وهما من الصفات الواجب توافرها بشدة بنسب فائقة في هذه الأقمشة لمال ها من استخدامات يومية وتكرارية. وكذلك أيضا أنتاج أقمشة وبرية بأسلوب الوبرة من السداء من خيوط مزوية بأسلوب الغزل الحلقي وغزل الطرف المفتوح للوصول إلى أفضل عدد حدفات في وحدة القياس وأيضا قوة الضم المستخدمة لإنتاج الأقمشة الوبرية المناشف. وقد توصل البحث إلى:- - إمكانية استخدام خيوط غزل الطرف المفتوح في الأقمشة الوبرية لتميزها بتكليفتها القليلة مقارنة بأسلوب الغزل الحلقي - يوجد علاقة إحصائية بين عدد الحدفات في وحدة القياس وقوة الضم المستخدمة وبين قوة الشد والانكماش في الأقمشة الوبرية.
