تظل الهوية العربية والإسلامية في مقدمة ما تسعى مجتمعاتنا بصفة عامة وأبحاثنا العلمية بصفة خاصة، إلى تحصينه، ودعم مقوماته ومرتكزاته، وترسيخ الانتماء إليه، وحمايته من التشويه، ووقايته من الضعف، مع الأخذ بكل متطلبات الإصلاح، وإجراءات التطوير لهذه المجتمعات. إن ثقافتنا العربية واحدة من أغنى الثقافات في العالم، ويتجلى عناها في تكامل عناصرها المتضمنة لما يلي: المعتقدات التي ارتكزت على العقيدة الإسلامية، والقيم التي تنظم الحياة الاجتماعية، والعناصر المعرفية التي تنظم بها الهوية، والعناصر الرمزية التي ترتكز على اللغة وأبجدياتها...، ومع عصر المعرفة والمعلوماتية، واستحداث أفرع وتصنيفات جديدة للعلوم والفنون والمعارف الإنسانية والطبيعية، وظهور مجموعة من القيم والأبجديات العالمية مقابل القيم المحلية وتنامي انتشار اللغات العالمية مقابل اللغة العربية، وظهور أنماط للتواصل بين بني الإنسان، وظهور أنماط حياتية جديدة في الليل والنهار... فرضت على هويتنا العربية متغيرات وتحديات ألقت بثقلها على مجتمعاتنا العربية... وتقوم الدراسة الحالية على استغلال الاعلام المعاصر المتطور من خلال أحد أركانه الرئيسة الآن وهو تصميم الهوية المرئية لعلم التايبوجرافي، لدعم الهوية الثقافية للحرم المكي الشريف من خلال تثبيتها وتعميقها. حيث يتم استحداث أبجدية عربية مبتكرة للحرم المكي الشريف باستخدام علم التايبوجرافي بنوعيه الساكن والمتحرك، وهو علم بناء شبكة خطية للحرف العربي واللاتيني المستخدم داخل الحرم المكي الشريف، والذي يعد رمزا خالدا لهويتنا العربية والإسلامية، ولما له من أثر وتعظيم كبير في نفوس المسلمين عالميا وعربيا، وذلك من خلال دراسة كل الأبجديات الحالية داخل وخارج الحرم المكي الشريف، وكذلك دراسة أنواع الخطوط في المخطوطات داخل مكتبة الحرم المكي الشريف.
