في حياتنا ومنذ صغرنا نتعلم كيف نتصل مع الناس الآخرين بالوسائل المتعددة، الحديث والكتابة والقراءة، ويتم التركيز على هذه المهارات في المناهج المدرسية بكثافة، لكن بقية وسيلة اتصالية لم نعرها أي اهتمام مع أنها من أهم الوسائل الاتصالية، ألا وهي الاستماع. وسوف نتحدث في هذا البحث عن مهارة الاستماع، حيث يرى المربين أن الاستماع الجيد هو وسيلة إلى الفهم، والى الاتصال اللغوي بين المتكلم والسامع، فالاستماع قراءة بالأذن وتنمية مهارة الاستماع أمر ضروري للمعلم يساعده على إيصال المعلومة وضبط الصف وحسن إدارته. وانطلاقا من هذا المبدأ أصبح من الضروري تسليط الضوء على مهارة الاستماع بتركيز قوي يوضح هذه الحقيقة لمن يجهلها ويذكر الغافلين عن أهميتها، ودورها الأساسي في المجال التعليمي، ارتأى الباحثان أن يختارا موضوع (مهارة الاستماع وكيفية التدريب عليها) مادة لمحتوى هذا البحث. حيث قسم البحث إلى فصلين، وقسم كل فصل إلى خمسة مباحث، مشتملة على عدة مواضيع جعلت مادة لمحتوى البحث، أملين أن يجد القارئ عونا له في تفهم هذه المهارة وضرورة العناية بها وان يخصص لها الوقت والمكان اللازمين لتدريسها.
In Our life, we learn how to communicate with each other using different skills such as speaking, reading, writing and listening. The first three skills are focused on in educational curricula extensively unlike listening skill that has not received due attention; therefore the current paper tackles the role listening skill in Education. Educationalists believe that a good listening leads to comprehension and achieves linguistic communication between speakers and hearers. They also believe that listening is reading with the ear and that improving this skill is essential for the teacher because it helps him / her to convey knowledge and to discipline the class. Accordingly, it is very important to shed light on this issue to clarify its value in the learning process. The paper in hand is divided in to two chapters. Each chapter is subdivided in to five sections. Each section deals with different topics related to the skill of listening. It is hope that this paper will be a good guide for explring this skill
