المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث بيان حقيقة الشائعة، وبيان جملة من الأسباب والدواعي والأغراض التي تكون وراء ترويج الشائعات، وجملة من العوامل التي تساعد على اتساع نطاقها، وبيان جملة من الآثار السيئة التي تتركها الشائعات على الأفراد والمجتمعات والجماعات.
ثم تناول البحث بالبيان المنهج الصحيح في التعامل مع الشائعات في ضوء الهدى النبوي الراشد، من خلال بضرب نماذج من الشائعات التي انتشرت في زمن الوحي، وكيف تعامل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مع تلك الشائعات ليخرج منها بأقل الخسائر، وكذلك من خلال التوجيهات والإرشادات النبوية التي تتعلق بهذا الموضوع.
وأكد الباحث في ختام بحثه على أمرين مهمين:
الأول: وجوب التثبت من كل ما يصل إلى السمع، عملاً بالأدلة التي توجب التثبت، فبئس مطية الرجل زعموا.
والثاني: يكون بعد التأكد من صحة الخبر ووثوق مصدره، وهو النظر في المصلحة من نشره أو عدم نشره، فليس كل ما يعلم يقال، وقد تكون المصلحة في كتمانه وطيه وعدم نشره، والشريعة جاءت لجلب المصالح وتكثيرها، ودرء المفاسد وتقليها.

This research deals with explaining the reality of the rumor, with a number of reasons, causes, and purposes that promote rumors, a number of factors that help spread their scope, and a number of bad effects that rumors have on individuals, communities, and groups.
The research then discussed the correct approach to dealing with rumors in the light of the Prophet's guidance, by using examples of rumors that spread during the time of revelation, and how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dealt with those rumors so that he could get out of them with the minimum losses, also through the prophetic guidance and instructions related to this subject.
At the conclusion of his research, the researcher emphasized two important things:
First, it is obligatory to verify everything that reaches the ear, in accordance with the evidence that makes it obligatory to prove it. The man's ride is terrible, they claim.
The second is after ascertaining the authenticity of the news and the trustfulness of its source, which is to consider the interest of publishing it or not publishing it. Everything that is known is not to be said, and the interest may be in keeping it a secret and not spreading it. The shari'a (Islamic law) comes to bring benefits and multiply them and to prevent the negative consequences and reduce them.
