المستخلص: يتناول البحث تعبيرات (يجري مجرى، بمنزلة، يحل محل) التي استعملها النحاة القدماء في عرضهم للقضايا النحوية والصرفية في تأليفهم النحوي، ويأتي هذا البحث ساعيا لبيان مقاصد النحاة ومنهجيتهم في ذلك الاستعمال من واقع نصوص كتاب المقتضب لأبي العباس المبرد (285هـ)، وقد اتبع الباحث في سبيل ذلك المنهج الوصفي مستخدما التحليل فضلا عن أداة الإحصاء، وقد بدأ البحث بتساؤلاتٍ يسعى إلى الإجابة عنها ثم أردفها بقراءة إحصائية مجملة لجميع التعبيرات المقترحة في كتاب المقتضب، ثم انتُخبت بعض المواطن والقضايا ممثلة لكل تعبير، وتم الكشف عن معانيها اعتمادا على السياق، ثم خلصت الدراسة إلى مقاربة بين التعبيرات وفق استعمال المبرد في كتابه، وهذه المقاربة هي نتائج البحث.

This research addresses the expressions “Yajri Majra, like, Yahullu Mahall” (Runs - Place of running, To put in place, Place) which the classical grammarians utilized in their presentation of grammatical and morphological matters in their grammatical compositions. This research has come in an effort to explain the intended aims of the grammarians and their methodologies in relation to that usage, as taken from the reality of the texts of the book “Al-Muqtadib” by Abu Al-Abbas Al-Mubrid (285 A.H). To accomplish this, the researcher followed the descriptive methodological approach utilizing analysis, in addition to the statistical tool. The research began with questions which he sought to answer. He then followed that with a wholistic statistical reading of all the proposed expressions in the book “Al-Muqtadib”. Then some of the representative points and issues were selected, followed by a disclosure of their meanings by relying upon the context. The study then concluded by analyzing the expressions in accordance to Al-Mubrid’s usage in his book, and this analysis represented the results of this research study.
