المستخلص: The aim of this work was to study the effect of dietary energy level on carcass yield and composition of Sudan Baggara heifers. Forty eight heifers were bought from the market and divided into three groups each of 16 heifers with four replications for each group. Three diets of constant crude protein (17.5%) and different energy level were formulated and assigned randomly to heifers group for an experiment period of 16 weeks; seven animals from each group were slaughtered. The carcass data indicated that increasing dietary energy level improved the proportion of high price cuts. Moreover, heifers fed with diet C produced higher price cuts than the other groups. The topside and silverside cut was significantly (p<0.05) heavier group B than group C and A. Carcass composition indicated that total carcass muscle percentage ranged from 60.6 - 63.5% and found to be higher for heifers fed diet A. Muscle to bone ratio ranged from 3.54-3.69 and was found to be higher in heifers fed diet A compared to the other groups. Furthermore, muscle to fat ratio was slightly improved by the energy level and it was higher in heifers fed diet C compared to the other groups.
