المستخلص: This paper aims at drawing the attention about the necessity of translation teaching for EFL university students and exploring the problems of translation encountered by Sudanese university students. The major objectives of the paper evolved around the importance of teaching translation to EFL Sudanese university students, the lack of which results many errors of translation. The study adopted the survey method and the experimental methods to collect the data. The main results of the paper were, translation is an important component of foreign language teaching and learning, time allotted for teaching translation is inadequate to enhance students’ performance. The study recommended that teaching translation in the universities should be revised and improved
